The LDO-42STH48-2804AC is a 2-phase, 1.8° NEMA 17 stepper motor designed for demanding 3D printer motion systems, compact CNC equipment, robotics and custom automation projects. Its 48 mm body delivers 420 mN·m of holding torque while maintaining a standard NEMA 17 mounting footprint.

Dual 24 mm D-cut shafts provide flexible pulley, coupler or accessory mounting on either side. A built-in 6-position connector keeps wiring compact and serviceable, making the motor well suited to custom CoreXY and high-load belt-drive systems.

Key Features

420 mN·m Holding Torque

The 48 mm motor body provides strong holding force for high-load X/Y axes, CoreXY motion systems and other belt-driven applications.

Low-Inductance 2.8 A Winding

Rated at 2.8 A per phase with 0.6 mH phase inductance, the motor is designed for responsive current control when paired with a suitable bipolar stepper driver.

Dual 5 mm D-Cut Shafts

Both sides feature a 24 ±0.5 mm shaft extension with a 20 ±0.1 mm D-flat section. This provides additional flexibility for pulleys, couplers, encoders or other shaft-mounted components.

Integrated 6-Position Connector

The PH-06AWJ connector provides four active phase connections with clearly defined pin assignments. Class F insulation supports reliable operation in thermally demanding motion systems.

Suitable for:

  • Custom CoreXY and Cartesian 3D printer X/Y motion systems
  • Voron 2.4, Voron Trident, VZBot, Rat Rig and Annex-style builds when dimensions and electronics match
  • Belt-driven CNC machines and compact automation equipment
  • l Robotics, positioning systems and custom motion-control projects
  • Applications requiring a rear shaft for an encoder, damper, knob or secondary coupling

This is not a universal drop-in replacement. Before ordering, confirm:

  • 42.3 mm NEMA 17 frame clearance
  • 48 mm motor body clearance
  • Clearance for both 24 mm shaft extensions
  • 31 mm mounting-hole spacing
  • 5 mm D-shaft pulley or coupler compatibility
  • Stepper driver current capability and connector pinout

Installation Notes

  • Use a current-controlled bipolar stepper driver and verify its RMS/peak current convention.
  • Confirm both coil pairs and connector orientation before applying power.
  • Leave connector pins 2 and 5 unconnected.
  • Use pulleys or couplers designed for a 5 mm D-cut shaft.
  • Check rear-shaft and connector clearance before mounting the motor.
